So far 100 + 52 + 5 + 40 + 20 + 50 + 15 + 25 + 250 + 20 + 30 + 75 + 30 + 150 + 20 + 25 + 100 + 10 + 50 = 1 067 has been raised from our generous donors. I'd like to raise $642 to cover server costs for the first 6 months.
The Scoop Experience
the entity does not run on Slashcode, it runs on Scoop. There will be somewhat of an adjustment period for migrators, since there are difference between how the look and feel function, and also how the voting and moderating function. What is the best way of discussing the differences and explaining them to those who may inquire?
- Since the new site is up and functioning, I propose we dedicate a new talk page to the new site.
The Plastic "experience"
If there were a need to forment a new site that keeps the spirit of the old alive, what features of Plastic should be incorporated in to the new site? I propose that the following components create the "Plastic experience":
1) Writeups, the ability for anyone to submit them, and the ability for Editors to approve them.
2) Comment Threads that are capable of being moderated within a Discussion.
3) QuickLinks.
4) Graphics and Layout, including the Scoop medium.
5) pals, blocks, messages, and a profile page.
6) Chat.
7) Anonymous Idiot.
8) Karma.
9) Moderation.
10) Site Name.
11) Suggestions for New Features that don't correspond to anything that was on the old Plastic.
