The New Site

There is a pending discussion on what the new site shall be named, and there are a few things to adjust to. Such as:

1: What is the difference between the new moderation and the old site?
a) the voting is aggregate: You vote for the score you think the comment deserves, then your vote gets averaged out. For example: a comment whose rating showed 3.66/23 means that the average score of the moderation is 3.66 and 23 members have rated the comment. There is currently an effort to explore the possibilty of appelations, such as +astute, +funny, -obnoxious, etc, but no solution is currently available.

2. how does the subQ work?
a) you can vote +1 for the front page, +1 for a section page, +0 if you don't care, and -1 if you think the story shouldn't run.

3: what about alt headlines and alt decks, and other subQ advice?
a) A solution to re-create the subQ commenting is in the works. The "intro" part of the new submissions process is roughly akin to the old "deck"--the short intro to the story. We may want to encourage subbers to leave links out of the intro to allow for the "deck" to function.
